“Perfect, ravishing American show of the trumpeter Chris
Botti and the superb performance of Krzysia Górniak’s Band began the
Sopot Jazz Festival 2008. Well-kept in an unusual pleasant musical
colours for the ear the evening was entertained by Marcn Kydryński.
First
in the Opera Leśna Concert Hall PFK Krzysia Górniak’s Band appeared,
qualified by the Jazz Forum Magazine as “most interesting guitar
jazzwoman”. The band composition created that evening: Filip Sojka -
bass guitar, Przemek Knopik – percussion, Zdzisław Kalinowski – piano.
Their music, well-kept in the stylistics of the fusion jazz, determined
with the original mixture of rock jazz with elements of funky, soul,
pop and even the Latin American music.
The music performed was
light, very rhythmical with finished up improvisations, drawing in and
unpretending. For listeners not accustomed with jazz she determined an
excellent source of moods, and for lovers of this sort of music the
possibility of relishing themselves with musical nuances and music
colours. The concert abounded in masterly improvisations after which
especially hot cheers assembled Zdzisław Kalinowski, coming form Gdynia
